A Ni-kshay ID is the unique number given to a person with TB when their case is notified on Ni-kshay. It ties together the patient’s tests, treatment, adherence and Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana payments.

How you get a Ni-kshay ID
You do not apply for a Ni-kshay ID. It is created when the doctor, hospital or lab that diagnosed your TB notifies your case on Ni-kshay. Every TB case diagnosed or started on treatment in India must be notified, in government and private care alike, so every patient should have one.
TB is diagnosed
A test confirms TB, or a doctor starts TB treatment.
Your case is notified
The health facility or private doctor enters you on Ni-kshay with your basic details and diagnosis.
Ni-kshay ID created
The system creates your ID. The programme has sent registration details by SMS since Ni-kshay began, so check your messages from the time of diagnosis.
Bank details added
Give your bank details at the health facility so Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana support can be paid.
Where to find your Ni-kshay ID
- Look for an SMS from the time you were diagnosed or started treatment.
- Ask your treatment supporter, ASHA or DOTS provider.
- Ask the health facility or TB Unit where your treatment is registered. Take your treatment card or any test report.
- Call the free TB helpline Ni-kshay Sampark on 1800-11-6666.
There is no public search where anyone can look up a patient’s Ni-kshay ID by name or mobile number, and that is good: TB records are private. Be careful of any website that offers a “Ni-kshay ID check” and asks for your name, Aadhaar or phone number.
What your Ni-kshay ID is used for
| Use | How |
|---|---|
| TB Aarogya Sathi app | Log in with your Ni-kshay ID and the OTP sent to your registered mobile to see adherence, treatment progress and DBT payments. |
| Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana | Payments are generated against your Ni-kshay record and sent to your bank account by DBT. |
| Moving or changing doctors | Your record can be transferred, so tests and treatment continue without starting again. |
| Follow-up | Check-ups after treatment are linked to the same record. |
Do
- Keep your Ni-kshay ID written on your treatment card or in your phone.
- Use it in the official TB Aarogya Sathi app only.
- Ask your health facility if any detail in your record looks wrong.
Do not
- Do not share your Ni-kshay ID, OTP or bank details with callers or unknown websites.
- Do not pay anyone who offers to “create” or “find” a Ni-kshay ID.
- Do not get registered twice at different places; tell them you already have an ID.

Estimate my supportFrequently asked questions
Can I register myself on Ni-kshay to get an ID?
No. Patients are registered (notified) by the health facility, private doctor or lab that diagnoses or treats them. If you are on TB treatment and do not know your ID, ask that facility.
I am treated by a private doctor. Do I have a Ni-kshay ID?
You should, because private doctors must notify TB patients. Ask your doctor whether you have been notified. Notification also lets you get free medicines and Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana support. See TB notification.
What does a Ni-kshay ID look like?
It is a number created by the system. Formats can change, so rely on the ID your health facility gives you rather than any sample you see online.
I lost my phone. How do I log in to TB Aarogya Sathi?
The OTP goes to your registered mobile number. If your number has changed, ask your health facility to update it in your record.
